BEFORE YOUR TATTOO

BEFORE YOUR TATTOO

Please arrive well rested and well fed. Getting tattooed takes energy. You will need to sit still and deal with some pain for a while, so a good meal and a good night’s sleep will help you get the best tattoo possible.

Do not come in drunk, on drugs, or hungover.

Do not get tattooed if you are sick.

Bring a sweet snack and something to drink. You may not need it, but it is good to have just in case.

Wear clean, comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that allow easy access to the area being tattooed and will not rub against your fresh tattoo afterward. Zippered sweaters are especially useful. They can help keep you covered if you get cold and make surprisingly decent pillows.

If you have a large amount of coarse hair in the area being tattooed, carefully shave the area and the surrounding skin the day before your appointment. Our tiny disposable razors are not built for major hair gardening.

People sweat while getting tattooed. Please arrive clean and wearing deodorant, but avoid perfumes, colognes, or anything with a strong smell. Heavy scents can be difficult to deal with in close proximity over a long appointment.

Do not use numbing cream before your appointment. There are several reasons for this. If you want to use numbing cream, please contact us beforehand so we can go over the proper procedure and relevant information.
