Our Tattoo Artists

Jonathan Left

Jonathan is the owner of Night Things Tattoo Company, a tattoo artist, painter, and lifelong maker of strange little worlds. His work leans dark, weird, and character-driven, with a love for monsters, oddities, and tattoos that feel personal rather than generic. He believes good tattooing is built on trust, clear communication, and making something that feels alive on the skin.

Rachel Barret

Rachel is Night Thing’s resident tiny goth with a love for fine-line blackwork, delicate florals, and tattoos made for the girlies. Her work often leans soft, pretty, and slightly strange, which feels right for someone equally devoted to death metal, weird freaky tattoos, calico critters, and cats of all kinds.

FAQs

How much is this tattoo going to cost?

There are many ways to approach a tattoo idea at many different price points.

If you would like a general sense of pricing, it is best to drop in during walk-in hours or book a consult. To give a realistic estimate, we need to understand what you are looking for, where it is going, how large it will be, and how we can best make it work for you.

Consults

Choosing a tattoo and choosing a tattoo artist is kind of a big deal, or at least it should be.

Feel free to ask any questions you like or book a consult. Consults generally last about 15 minutes, and we can cover a lot of ground in that time. They are not always necessary for simpler work, but if you have concerns, questions, or are unsure how to approach your idea, a consult is a very good place to start.

Can I see my drawing?

Your drawing is often completed the night before or the day of your appointment. If small changes are needed, we can address them together during the appointment.

Tattooing is at its best when the artist and client are in sync and there is trust on both sides. Take time to look through the artist’s work and make sure their style is what you are looking for. Then, share your vision clearly while allowing the artist room to use their own judgment and skill to make the strongest tattoo possible.

If you are unsure what you want, or unsure whether you and the artist are on the same page, book an in-person consult before your tattoo appointment.

Do you tattoo minors?

Minors are considered on a case-by-case basis.

A parent or legal guardian, not a friend or sibling, must be present for the entire procedure. No exceptions.

Do you do cover-ups?

Sometimes.

Send us a clear, well-lit photo of the tattoo you want covered, including:

  • one close-up image

  • one photo showing the tattoo in the full body area

  • a description or reference for what you hope to cover it with

The more open you are to the design, the more likely we will be able to make it work.

Cover-ups are often more expensive than fresh tattoos, may require multiple sittings, and almost always begin with a consult.

Touch ups

Tattoos are the most human of art forms. They are humans working on humans. Skin heals in its own way, and absolute perfection is not always the real goal.

We are always happy to look at healed work and talk about whether anything needs attention. We generally do not offer free touch-ups for  minor or purely preference-based refinements, though there are exceptions when something clearly did not heal as it should.

If you feel your tattoo may need a touch-up, reach out kindly with a clear healed photo and we will figure out the right next step. In most cases, additional work is charged accordingly.
